10 Toxic People We Meet At Least Once In Our Lifetime; Avoid Them Like A Plague

Toxic people have a negative vibe. Somehow, they can always create drama and chaos around them. It makes everyone else suffer and experience emotions like anger, frustration, sadness, and annoyance.

We would all like to avoid toxic people as much as we can, but unfortunately, it is not always possible. Sometimes the toxic person is your co-worker, your boss, your relative or your partner’s friend. This means that you have to deal with them from time to time.

Toxic people cause strong negative emotions, and that also leads to stress. Don’t put your body through that and try to interact with these kinds of individuals as rarely as possible.

Our personality is mostly affected by the people, who are closest to us. It is even said that we are the product of the five people, we spend the most time with. If even one of the five people is toxic, it can have very negative consequences.

So here are the 10 types of toxic people you should try to avoid in your life:

1. The Gossiper

Gossipers want to have drama and intrigue. They find pleasure in others’ misfortunes. They want to feel better about themselves by talking bad about others. This is very low, and one should not go down to that level.

Also, think about it, if the gossiper gossips to you, they will probably gossip about you as well. This means you cannot ever trust them and they will break your heart one day.

2. The Temperamental

Some people cannot control their emotions at all. They will shower you with their bad feelings, even if you are not the cause of their feelings.

You cannot count on these kinds of people because you never know when they are in a good mood or a bad mood. And when they are in a bad mood, they sure as hell ruin your mood as well.

3. The Victim

First, you feel sorry for them and empathize with their situation. But then you start to realize, that the hard times never pass because they are always in some trouble.

The victims avoid taking responsibility and like to blame others for all of their misfortune. They do not look at hard times as learning possibilities, rather they see them as a way out of responsibility. It is always easier to play the victim than to take control over things.

4. The Self-Absorbed

Self-absorb people have no empathy, and they are very distant from other people. You felt lonely and misunderstood around them. They tend to be very judgmental towards others as well.

You cannot have a real connection with the self-absorbed people, and they usually use you as a tool to build themselves up.

5. The Envious

This kind of people sees the glass always half empathy. They cannot appreciate the things they have; rather they feel jealous over the things others have. To them, the grass is always greener somewhere else.

Of course, there is always someone prettier, richer, smarter, better, but that does not mean, that you should feel sorry for yourself and whine about it all the time. Envious people bring others down with that as well.

6. The Manipulator

These are the tricky kind of people. They can act like your best friend until you are useful for them. They can also abandon you all of a sudden and find more beneficial persons. The manipulators always have a hidden agenda.

If you start to analyze it, the relationship with a manipulator is usually about them. You are the one, which gives your time, energy and advice to them. They only take, take, take and don’t give anything back.

7. The Dementor

The dementors are like energy vampires. They have the ability to enter the room and instantly suck the life out of it. J. K. Rowling used dementors in the “Harry Potter” series as well. There they were evil creatures, who sucked people’s souls out of their bodies. Rowling said that she got inspiration for that from very negative people.

Dementors are the most negative people. They always whine and complain about things and don’t appreciate anything around them. It is very dangerous to be around them because they can replace your good energy with a negative one.

8. The Twisted

Some people have bad intentions, and they find pleasure in the pain and suffering of others. The confused only want to see you fail and get hurt. They have no other interest in you. Fortunately, it is quite easy to spot the confused ones and avoid them at all cost.

9. The Judgmental

The judgmental people think that they are so perfect and smart to know better. They can kill your ideas in a second and make you lose your motivation to do things.

Judgmental people look down at others, and they don’t get that people are different and can act and think differently as well. The world is not always black and white; sometimes both ideas can be right, it just depends on what do you prefer more.

10. The Arrogant

Proud people see everything as a challenge. Their goal is to be better than you at everything. This also means that they don’t cheer for your success, but the other way around.

Arrogant people act confident, but they have a lot of insecurities. Life around them is not easy nor pleasant.

How to protect yourself from toxic people?

The most important thing to remember is that don’t let them suck you into their emotional dramas. Be the stronger person and don’t respond the way they want you to. It is great if you see right through their plans and are aware of their agendas.

Set boundaries and do not let them walk all over you. If they are not willing to find a way that works for the both of you, just let them go and move on with your life.

Remember that there are two kinds of people, the ones who lift you up and the ones who bring you down. Choose wisely, who you’d like to spend your time and energy on.
