10 Ways to Tell Your Relationship Won’t Last From Your Partner’s Social Media

Social media is such a huge part of all of our lives now, and its actions from your partner on the internet are often significant to your relationship. Positivity online is a sign that things are all plain sailing, but usually, there are often tell-tale signs that things aren’t working out too. There are ten main signs that your partner may display online that suggest you guys won’t be forever and always.

1. Your partner only posts about themselves

When it comes to sharing online, you’re forever posting about your partner, whether it’s in statuses or cute photos. However, you’ve noticed that on their profiles, they’re only posting about themselves. Psychologist, Yvonne Thomas, believes this could mean your partner is leading a life outside of you, and the connection to you isn’t as strong as you might have hoped.

2. Your partner is criticizing your social media presence

If your partner is disapproving of the way you present yourself on social media or criticizes your use of it, it could be a bad sign. This could be a passive-aggressive sign that they are unhappy with their relationship, and are therefore picking flaws with you.

3. Your partner makes flirtatious comments on other people’s profiles

If you notice that you’re being neglected on social media, but that your partner is interacting flirtatiously with others online, it’s a sign you should get out ASAP. Your partner is taking more interest in someone other than you, and that’s unacceptable.

4. Your partner utilizes song lyrics and quotes to express their feelings

It’s making it back to middle school vibes, but it often offers an insight into someone’s mind when they’re posting dramatic quotations. This behavior is usually standard in a less mature relationship, but it’s a pretty big red flag if the quotes are negative.

5. Your partner never mentions you on social media

This isn’t a big deal if your partner doesn’t post much online, but for someone who is always using all the social media platforms, this is a bad sign. It’s a sign that your partner doesn’t want others to know they’re taken, leaving the possibility open for other romantic approaches. It shows they’re unhappy with you and could be on the brink of breaking things off so they don’t showcase your relationship on social media.

6. Your partner engages with you consistently on social media

This may not be a sign of dissatisfaction, but it could be a sign of anxiety in a relationship. If your partner only engages with you by putting posts of the pair of you on social media, it could be a sign that they don’t know how to act around you, and they’re using social media as a defense to show your relationship.

7. Your partner is passive aggressive towards you on social media

Cryptic comments about relationships, gender or roles can mean that your partner isn’t happy with the way they’re being treated, and they’re trying to communicate to you without having to say it aloud.

8. Your partner is part of strange Facebook groups

When a relationship is going off the rails, people can do some weird things. It’s never okay to go through someone’s internet history, but if you see on Facebook that your partner is in outside groups, perhaps related to dating or meeting other people, it could indicate that they’re straying from the path.

9. Your partner ignores your engagement with them on social media

If you tag them in photos and memes on Facebook but receive a negative response or even no response at all, it could be a sign of disinterest. Ignoring each other online is a sign they’re trying to distance themselves from you.

10. Your partner’s profile is continually evolving

If your partner keeps changing their profile, the chances are it’s to make themselves seem more attractive in photos or to distance their online presence from you. Changing a profile picture often invites compliments, so someone who turns their view all of the time could be seeking romantic attention.

Social media impacts on relationship and it’s beyond any doubts. It’s important to remember that these signs can be coincidental. If you think one or more of these issues apply, talk it over with your partner before jumping to any conclusions.
