5 Real Reasons Why Young Women Are Not Getting Married

Some single women are desperately looking to get married and have children with the right man but haven’t been able to. While many of these women are successful in every other aspect of their lives, they just haven’t been able to reach this goal of being ready to get married. Fortunately, there are some reasons that women are still single, and there is something that can be done about it.

Here are five reasons why young women prefer to stay single and what to do about it:

1. They Made Sex Cheap

Easily the most significant reason many women are still single is that sex is cheap. When men know that they can get sex from a woman on their fifth, third, or even first date, they don’t value it, and there’s no reason for them to pursue a more serious relationship or marriage. When men get to have as much sex as they want without all the additional responsibilities of being married, they have no reason to get married.

The best thing a woman can do to get married is to wait to have sex until they are married. Although this may sound difficult or even impossible, it is possible and necessary for women who want a real, lasting relationship. Women who choose not to have sex before marriage should make it clear to a man as early as possible in the relationship.

They also need to take steps to reach that goal. This means avoiding situations where sex is likely possible, and always having an exit strategy when things start getting too intense. When both partners are committed to not having sex until marriage, this goal is even easier to reach because both are working together to protect their relationship.

2. They Don’t Bring It Up

Many women aren’t married today merely because they didn’t bring it up with their boyfriends. In many cases, they’re afraid of the guy’s response because they feel that they will be rejected or they just don’t want to put pressure on the guy. However, if both partners aren’t planning on the relationship continuing through marriage, it’s going to end sooner or later.

Women shouldn’t be afraid to ask from the beginning where the relationship is going. It’s vital to the success of the relationship that both partners be on the same page in that aspect. A woman shouldn’t put pressure on a guy to get married, but merely asking “can you see us getting married shortly?” can help open up lines of communication to see where they both stand.

3. Looking in the Wrong Places

A woman who wants to get married to someone that will stay with them for the rest of her life needs to stop looking in bars and clubs where men are looking for someone to stay with for the rest of the night. Religious women should only look at their religion because a difference in faith can be a significant difficulty to overcome in a relationship and marriage.

4. Giving Up Too Soon

One reason that some women are still single is that they gave up on the idea of marriage far too early. They believed that they had an expiration date somewhere in their mid-20’s and now that they’re over 25, there’s no hope. The truth is that the median age for a woman’s first marriage in the United States is 27, and even women in their early 30’s can safely have kids.

5. Too High of Standards

For successful women, the most significant obstacle they may have to overcome to reach their goal of being married is their high standards. They expect to be able to marry a man who has more education and is making more money than them, yet they have a Ph.D. and are making 6-figures, which dramatically narrows down their possibilities when it comes to finding a man.

What these women have to realize is that success is measured in different ways, and a man doesn’t necessarily have to be “more” successful than a woman for a marriage to work. If a woman in this situation finds herself a man who is responsible, working hard on his career path, and has a personality that matches hers, there’s no reason she can’t marry him.
