7 Costly Mistakes Couples Are Most Likely to Make in New Relationships

Being in love can be one of the greatest experiences one could ever hope to have in their life. It’s unlike anything else in the world and seriously worth it if you do it right. However, loving bliss can quickly change into turmoil if you’re not careful. Here we are going to explore the top 7 mistakes many people make while blinded by love.

1. Introducing Children Too Early

Young children are vulnerable beings but, when we’re in love, we often forget this. Introducing children to your significant other may seem harmless but what happens if things go south? Being lost in the cloudy atmosphere of love, we don’t want to even begin to consider the relationship ending, which is completely natural. However, it would serve you well to live in reality and consider all possibilities. Children get easily attached to the people in their lives and can suffer emotional scarring when they lose them. Make sure to keep them in mind when bringing a new partner of yours into their lives.

2. Quickly Moving In with Each Other

All too often those who are freshly in love will feel the need to spend as much time as possible with their new partner. By all means, that’s completely understandable: you’re in love after all. The problem is when we take it to the extreme and move in with each other too early on in the relationship. Take the time to get to know one another before anyone moves in anywhere, it’s definitely worth it. You’ll be able to see if your home behavior is compatible with theirs long before any living arrangements are changed.

3. Not Discussing Your Current Health

Talking to your significant other about health issues is much more important than most people realize. In this day and age, to put it bluntly, people are much more promiscuous due to the heightened ability to meet potential mates. This is mostly connected to online services making it much easier to do so. This, in turn, leads to increased sexual health concerns such as contracting an STD. This is a serious issue that MUST be addressed early on as some STDs carry deadly consequences. Other health issues can also play a critical role in a relationship and it’s ability to be successful.

4. Getting Married Too Soon

Entering into a marriage is a significant move in the lives of a couple and often taken way too lightly. Most people don’t realize that not only are you personally combining your life with another person’s life, you are also legally binding one life to another. This carries a mountain of positive and negative possibilities. It would serve you VERY well to consider all outcomes of getting married before taking this serious plunge.

5. Not Getting a Prenuptial Agreement

A prenuptial agreement helps protect both parties in a marriage. There’s absolutely no reason both of you shouldn’t protect your assets, both physical and financial. Imagine the reality many divorced couples have suffered: losing an unfair amount of money and property just because no one bothered to obtain a prenup. A divorce is bad enough, be a realist and ensure protection for both of you.

6. Becoming Pregnant Early On

Wrap it up fellas and don’t forget to take your birth control ladies. This is where passion takes over and during your sexual frenzy, birth control is often neglected. Be responsible in your sexual encounters with your lover. Bringing a new life into this world is a serious event that should never be discounted.

7. Blind to Your Partner’s Red Flags

No one wants to admit your new found love has some not-so-savory characteristics but they are often present anyway. Be aware of the behaviors of those who surround you, which includes the person you are in a relationship with. Love can create a haze that keeps you in denial about red flags your partner may have but that haze will eventually disappear down the road. Be honest with yourself and catch those negative qualities in the beginning instead of later when you’ll have a lot invested and much more to lose.
