7 Natural Products That Will Revitalize The Soul in Your Hair

Is your hair looking a little sad lately? Do you wish your hair had a bit more life to it? Well here are a few natural products you can revive the soul in your hair without breaking the bank.

Here are seven natural products that will revive the soul in your hair:

1. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is great for multiple health reasons, and your hair is included in that list. The key is to exfoliate your scalp with the apple cider vinegar which will remove any excess buildup in your hair as well as give your scalp and roots some moisture and nutrients.

2. Olive Oil

Did you know that you can use olive oil for more than cooking? It turns out it is not only good for your food, but it is also perfect for your hair. Filled with rich vitamin E and antioxidants, olive oil can heal your hair by sealing moisture into your hair and roots. The most common way to use olive oil is to do a hot oil mask on your hair. For the mask, get enough olive oil to cover your hair from root to end and slightly warm it in the microwave. Once the oil is warm, cover your hair from root to end and massage into scalp for five to ten minutes. Cover your hair with a warm towel and let it sit for a minimum of thirty minutes (the longer, the better). When you’re ready to remove the oil from your hair, rinse your hair with warm water. This is the essential part: do not use shampoo the first time you clean your hair. If you use shampoo, you may find it very difficult to remove the oil from your hair.

3. Bananas

Just like olive oil, bananas are great for your hair. They are filled with potassium and moisture contents which will help restore some of the nutrients missing from your hair. You can either put the mashed bananas on your hair by itself, or you can mash them up with almond oil and honey. Either way, leave the mask on your hair for twenty to thirty minutes.

4. Beer

Not only is beer good for drinking, but it is also great as a conditioner for your hair. When you put beer on your hair and let your hair air dry, your hair will be shiny and super smooth. To put beer on your hair, use a spray bottle to spray small amounts on after you have shampooed your hair.  Ideally, if possible you should let your hair air dry- this will prevent your hair from smelling like beer. If you cannot let your hair air dry, you can still spray some beer on your hair before blow drying (you just might smell like beer).

5. Pumpkin and honey

This one would be perfect during the fall when you have unlimited access to pumpkins. Pumpkins are filled with Vitamin A and C, potassium, beta-carotene, and zinc which your hair loses over time. To put some of those vitamins back into your hair, get a can of pumpkin puree and add 1-2 tablespoons of honey and mix well. Once your mixture is ready, put the pumpkin on your scalp and hair and let sit for at least fifteen minutes. Have some extra mask, put it on your face! It will be good for your skin too.

6. Eggs

Eggs are not just breakfast foods – they are also good for hair, skin and nail treatment. They are filled with proteins and healthy fats that your hair needs, especially during the dry seasons. There are two ways to use the egg: egg whites or egg yolk. If your hair is oily, use only egg white. If it is dry, use only egg yolks. To make the mask, put about ½ cup of egg mixed up onto your hair and let sit for twenty or so minutes. When you’re done, rinse with cold water and watch your hair like normal.

7. Flour

Don’t have time to wash and style your hair, but your hair is a little greasy? Try using flour. Flour can act as a natural “dry shampoo” and will help get the oil off of your roots while giving a little lift back into your hair. To use the flour, apply about one tablespoon to your roots and let sit for three to five minutes. Once your time is up, brush your hair to get any remaining flour out of your hair. This is perfect for an on the go person that needs to save on time; plus, it will help your hair in the long run from heat damage. It is a win-win situation.
