7 Signs You Have A ‘Strong’ Intimidating Personality; No. 6 Often Scares Others Away

Having a strong personality does not mean being rude, irreverent nor arrogant. It means standing up for yourself and what you believe in. The most influential people are usually also the kindest, most emphatic and understanding ones towards others.

Too often strong people are confused with dominative persons, but there is a big difference. A dominant person will force their beliefs and opinions on others. They never admit their mistakes, because they hate losing and being wrong. Strong people stand up for themselves, but they always stay fair and admit their mistakes as well.

Because the dominant individuals are confused with the strong personalities, many people are scared of strong minds. This happens, when they feel insecure about themselves and do not want to be confronted about their actions.

So find out, if you have a strong personality, that others might be scared of. Here are the 7 signs:

1. You Don’t Tolerate Excuses

You hate when people see a glass half empty and always see only the negative part of things. There are always going to be obstacles and difficulties, but that’s not the reason not to do something. It is easier to whine and complain, but a strong person just does everything in their power to make it come true. As a strong person, you are not okay with people just complaining, before even trying to get it done.

2. You Don’t Do Small Talk

You have so many ideas and motivation to get things done, so you don’t want to waste time on small talk. Small talk seems pointless and unnecessary for you because you just don’t care about gossip and other unimportant things. You want to talk about changing the world!

3. You Cannot Stand Insensitivity, Idiocy, and Ignorance

These traits are usually inherent to dominant persons. They are the ones, who just push their opinion on others and do not wish to learn and develop themselves. You, as a strong person, cannot stand this kind of behavior. To you, it is important always to understand the others’ points of views as well and discuss it. You have no problem changing your opinion or admitting you were mistaken if the other person makes a good case. So most of the time you don’t want to deal with close minded people, so you just walk away from them.

4. You Listen to Others

Every person can teach us something new. Strong people know that and listen to others carefully. They know that each gives us new knowledge about the world or ourselves and you can never know enough. Also, listening to others shows respect and empathy, because we all want to hear as well.

5. You Don’t Need Spotlight

Strong people are confident and believe in themselves. They do not need others’ appreciation or attention. People will respect you, because of your personality and behavior, not because you are famous or not. People, who are only after fame, are usually fake and unpleasant in real life and they don’t get far with this way of acting.

6. You Are Fearless

Of course, we all are afraid of something, but if you are a strong person, you do not let fear dictate your life. You are not scared of taking the harder road and taking risks. You might lose sometimes, but if you never try, you’re wasting all the time.

7. You Look at Insecurity as an Opportunity

When you do not feel confident about something in your life, you start to work on it. For example, if you are not great at meeting new people, you practice. You put yourself in uncomfortable situations, where you have to start talking to people you don’t know. You try to improve yourself and grow as a person. Every mistake, insecurity, and flaw is an opportunity to learn and to do better.

Of course, not all people are going to like you. You might meet a lot of haters in your life, but it is important not to lose your focus and know what matters. Being true to yourself and going after what you want should always inspire you to make right decisions. As they say, kill them with success bury them with a smile.
