You have probably heard of many amazing life stories. People have a terrible childhood, and they manage to break out of it and defeat all the challenges life throws at them. Usually, they come from low-income families and manage to become very successful. But the truth is that these stories do not happen to anyone.
Not all lives are equal or fair or magical. Some people have it easier than others. Some, unfortunately, must work very hard for their goals and dreams and life does not treat them nicely. This is what most people go through. Even if it seems that everywhere you look, there are a people with success story, then the most of us still need to work our asses off to achieve something.
So here are 10 brutal truths about life and getting satisfied that most stories skip out:
1. Without Goals, Life is Pointless
If you do not know what you want, then nobody can help you. Attach yourself to your goals, not to people or things. Work out a rational plan how to get there and keep that goal always in mind. Try to do every day something that helps you closer to your goal, even if it is a small thing.
2. We Are Not In Control All The Time
Learn to let go of things, because not everything will go as you planned. That’s called life. You need to be able to adapt to new situations and not beat yourself up over small mistakes and challenges, which come to your way. Be flexible and learn to let go of things. Remember, when a door shuts, a window always opens.
3. Failure Is The Road to Success
Do you believe that all those successful people got there where they are now without failures? Failing means trying, it shows that you are willing to take risks and get out of your comfort zone. If you never fail, you do not try hard enough. Have the courage to try new things and even if there are some setbacks all those experiences will make you wiser in the end.
4. A Person Is Not Defined by What They Own
Life is not about fancy cars, designer clothes, and expensive things. There is so much more to life. And in the end, you will discover that none of this stuff matter. Invest money and time in people and learning, not in things. Be smart and do not spend more than you need to.
5. Thinking Does Not Help. Start Doing.
We all might have great ideas, but ideas themselves ate worthless if you do not do anything about it. You need to start working hard for your dreams and ideas. Your actions will define you more than your words as well. Do not waste your time on doubting and waiting for the right moment. Just start doing and see if it works out.
6. Change Is The Only Law in Life
Although stability will make us feel safe and secure, there will always be things that are changing. Nothing in life is ever sure, and you need to be flexible enough to adapt to new situations and environments.
7. Everyone, You Know Will Eventually Die
This is a hard truth that we do not want to acknowledge, but everyone who is older than us will die eventually. You need to appreciate the time you have with them and not take it for granted. Invest your time in people, not in things. And make sure they know how much you appreciate them.
8. Worrying is Useless
Worrying about things that might happen is a waste of time. Better focus on the present and the things that have already happened. Worrying causes stress and anxiety, which will make you less productive and more tired in the end. It can even affect your health. Worrying can only bring you down and slow your work. So do not waste any more time on pointless “what if”s and start working on the present.
9. The Root of Suffering is Pursuing Temporary Feelings
People tend to think that excitement and new things will make them happy. The truth is that you feel comfortable when you are in peace. This means having a safe environment around you and living in some routine. Travelling and buying new things is fun, but these are temporary emotions. The most important aspect is to find inner peace and be happy with yourself. If you do not love yourself, how can you expect others to do so?
Take control of your life and stop living it like everyone else wants you to. Do what makes you happy and have a stress-free mentality, because as you know worrying does not solve any problems. Follow your heart and work hard, because no good things come at a small price. Earn your success and find your inner peace, only then can you be thrilled.
