Who Each Personality Type Should Marry? (Based on Myers Briggs Test)

The most important decision a person makes in their life is who they’re going to marry. Because marriage is a life-long commitment, it’s essential to choose the right person.

Fortunately, one of the easiest ways to know if the other person is “the one” is based on personality type.

Here is a list of all of the personality types according to the Myers-Briggs personality test and the person they should marry.

INFJ – Introversion (I), Intuition (N), Feeling (F), Judgment (J)

Because this person is complicated and intense, it’s important to find someone who can handle that. It’s also vital for INFJs to find someone who can dive deep into an issue since that’s one of the things this personality type is known for.

ISFP –  Introversion (I), Sensing (S), Feeling (F), Perception (P)

People with this personality type are creative and often close themselves off from others, so they need to marry someone that will draw them out of their shells, and that truly appreciates and encourages their creativity.

ESTP – Extraversion (E), Sensing (S), Thinking (T), Perception (P)

This personality type loves feeling free and taking life as it comes. Because of that, it’s crucial that they find someone who isn’t afraid to let them have the freedom they need to be who they are while being utterly genuine as ESTPs also highly value honesty.

ISFJ – Introversion (I), Sensing (S), Feeling (F), Judgment (J)

ISFJs are known for being extremely sensitive which means it’s essential for them to find someone that is gentle with them and everyone around them. This personality type also needs someone that will support them emotionally.

ISTJ –  Introversion (I), Sensing (S), Thinking (T), Judgment (J)

Because people with this personality type are organized and love consistency above all else, it’s important to marry someone who appreciates this trait. They don’t necessarily have to share it, but they should understand and respect it.

ENTJ – Extraversion (E), Intuition (N), Thinking (T), Judgment (J)

These leaders need to marry someone who isn’t afraid of their aggressive nature and who is willing to follow or else lead alongside them. With the right person at their side, an ENTJ will be able to reach all of their goals and will help their partner do the same.

ISTP – Introversion (I), Sensing (S), Thinking (T), Perception (P)

Those with this personality type should look for someone who is confident, independent, and loves devoting time to them. It’s also important to find a partner who will draw the ISTP out of their shell since they tend to be aloof and closed-off.

INTP – Introversion (I), Intuition (N), Thinking (T), Perception (P)

This personality type needs someone that is outgoing and bold, and able to get this introvert out of their little world at least part of the time. As INTPs love learning, it’s also vital to find someone that has the same desire for personal improvement.

ESTJ – Extraversion (E), Sensing (S), Thinking (T), Judgment (J)

Assertive and confident are two of the traits of those with this personality type, so the first requirement of their partner can see these as positive things. It’s also important to find someone that is consistent but can even bring some spontaneity into their life.

ENFJ – Extraversion (E), Intuition (N), Feeling (F), Judgment (J)

Those who are ENFJ are compassionate, and should, therefore, marry someone that cherishes that rather than taking advantage of it. This personality trait also needs someone who is always willing to share their feelings with them.

ESFP – Extraversion (E) ,Sensing (S), Feeling (F), Perception (P)

Known for spontaneity, it’s essential for this personality type to find someone who supports your personality while providing you with some stability. They also need someone who won’t keep them from being social.

INTJ – Introversion (I), Intuition (N), Thinking (T), Judgment (J)

As someone who tends to over-think, it’s vital for this personality type to marry someone that is genuine and honest so there’s no need to analyze everything they say or do. They also need someone that isn’t going to be intimidated by their intellect.

INFP – Introversion (I), Intuition (N), Feeling (F), Perception (P)

This personality type is prone to spending far more time lost in their head than most people, so they need someone that respect that while providing a stable place to come back to. Their partner should also be equally open-minded or at least be willing to explore other perspectives.

ESFJ – Extraversion (E), Sensing (S), Feeling (F), Judgment (J)

This free personality type needs someone that won’t take advantage of how much they love to give. They should also look for someone who takes care of them as they are often too busy taking care of others to take care of themselves.

ENTP –  Extraversion (E), Intuition (N), Thinking (T), Perception (P)

Since this personality type thrives on debating everything from the serious to the ridiculous, finding someone to do that with for the rest of their life should be a priority. They also need someone that fully supports all of their ideas and plans.

ENFP – Extraversion (E), Intuition (N), Feeling (F), Perception (P)

As this person is known for having “too many” ideas, it’s essential that they find someone who will allow them to share those thoughts while also helping them keep them in perspective. They should make sure the person they marry encourages their freedom.
